Short, factual answers about what DownloadFullPage does, what’s free, how it handles your data and how it compares with Chrome’s built-in tools.
About DownloadFullPage
What is DownloadFullPage?
DownloadFullPage is a free Chrome extension that captures full webpages as screenshots. It scrolls the page, stitches it into one image, and lets you edit it and download it as PNG, JPG or PDF. It is developed by Digital Suvidha Pvt. Ltd.
Is DownloadFullPage free?
Yes. All core features are free: full page, visible area, region and element screenshots, the editor, PNG, JPG and PDF downloads, and screenshot history. There are no capture limits and no watermarks. An optional $9 one-time Pro upgrade with extra tools is planned but not available yet — see pricing.
What will DownloadFullPage Pro include?
Pro is planned as a one-time $9 lifetime upgrade with batch screenshots of multiple URLs, smart PDF page breaks, screenshot comparison, custom branding and advanced exports. These features are in development and are not available yet. Everything that is free today remains free. Details on the pricing page.
Do I need a subscription?
No. Core features are free with no subscription. The planned Pro upgrade is a one-time $9 payment for lifetime access to the Pro features included at purchase — not a monthly or yearly plan.
Do I need an account?
No. DownloadFullPage works without an account, sign-up or login.
Taking screenshots
How do I take a full page screenshot in Chrome for free?
Install DownloadFullPage, open the webpage, click the DownloadFullPage icon in the toolbar and choose Capture Full Page (or press Alt+Shift+D). The extension scrolls the page, stitches the parts together and opens a preview where you can download PNG, JPG or PDF. Step-by-step: How it works.
How do I screenshot a scrolling webpage?
Use a full page (scrolling) screenshot. DownloadFullPage scrolls through the page section by section, captures each part and joins them into one image without repeating fixed headers. Keep the tab visible until the capture finishes. More: scrolling screenshots.
How can I capture a long webpage as one image?
Use Capture Full Page. Pages up to about 16,000 pixels tall (after accounting for screen resolution) are saved as a single image; taller pages are saved in several parts automatically to stay within browser image limits. PDF export combines all parts into one document.
Why can’t I capture some pages?
Chrome does not allow extensions to capture its own pages (chrome:// pages, the New Tab page), the Chrome Web Store, or other extensions’ pages. On those pages the capture buttons are disabled and DownloadFullPage explains why.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Yes: Alt+Shift+D captures the full page, Alt+Shift+V captures the visible area and Alt+Shift+Y opens your screenshot history. On a Mac, Alt is the Option key. You can change them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
Editing and exporting
Which file formats are supported?
PNG (lossless), JPG (adjustable quality from 50% to 100%) and PDF (A4, Letter or Legal in portrait or landscape, or a single long page). You can also copy a screenshot to the clipboard.
Can I save an entire webpage as a PDF for free?
Yes. After a full page capture, choose PDF in the preview and pick A4, Letter, Legal or a single long page. The PDF contains the screenshot as an image, so it looks exactly like the page but its text is not selectable. For a text-based PDF, use Chrome’s Print › Save as PDF instead. See screenshot to PDF.
How do I edit a screenshot after capturing it?
Click Edit in the preview. The editor lets you crop, resize and rotate, add text, arrows, lines, rectangles and circles, highlight, blur or pixelate private details, draw freehand, and undo or redo. Then export as PNG, JPG or PDF or save a copy to your history. See the screenshot editor.
Does DownloadFullPage add a watermark?
No. Free screenshots and exports have no watermark. You can optionally add the page URL and capture date to exports in Settings.
Privacy and compatibility
How are screenshots processed and stored?
Screenshots are captured and stitched on your computer and saved in your browser’s local extension storage (IndexedDB). They are not uploaded to any server. You can delete screenshots, clear your history, turn history off or set automatic deletion in Settings.
Does DownloadFullPage track my browsing?
No. The extension has no analytics or tracking and does not read your browsing history. It only accesses a page after you start a capture on it, and it does not send data to any server.
Which browsers are supported?
DownloadFullPage is built for desktop Google Chrome 116 or later on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS. Support for other browsers has not been tested or announced.
How is DownloadFullPage different from Chrome’s built-in screenshot tools?
Chrome can capture a full size screenshot from Developer Tools (Command Menu › “Capture full size screenshot”), which saves a PNG without editing. DownloadFullPage adds one-click capture from the toolbar, region and element modes, fixed-header handling, PDF and JPG export, an annotation editor with blur, and a searchable history.
